The current Administration ended the COVID-19 vaccine requirements for international air travelers on May 11, 2023, the same day that the COVID-19 public health emergency ended. Starting May 12, 2023, noncitizen nonimmigrant air passengers no longer need to show proof of being fully vaccinated with an accepted COVID-19 vaccine in order to board a flight to the United States. However, a noncitizen who applies for an immigrant visa abroad, or an individual seeking to adjust status to lawful permanent resident (green card holder) while in the United States, is required to receive the COVID-19 vaccination.
